The project aims at benefitting 30,000 households and improve the productivity of two food crops (rice and maize) and associated vegetable and grain legumes. The associations will improve households’ nutrition and incomes. The key interventions planned include increasing rice and maize productivity to at least 3 and 6 t/ha by develop, among others, 400 ha of efficient irrigation systems, improve market access by developing rural roads (42 km), market centers (10), train 15,000 farmers/women/youth in good agronomic practices and agribusiness along the two crop value chains, develop 10 Warehouse and 10 drying facilities, and generate 10,000 new jobs.
